Jack Snodgrass - Class Of 1945

Willie "Jack" Snodgrass, 84, was born April 17, 1927 passed away in Deerfield Beach, Florida on August 4, 2011.

Survivors include sisters Anne Murray and Dorothy Tracy of Eastland; daughters, Sandy Foster of Norman, Oklahoma and Stacy Dochoda of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandsons, Brad and Greg Foster of Chicago, Illinois, Josh and Kyle Dochoda; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth "Libby" and Charlie Foster.

Preceding him in death were his cherished wife of forty-five years, Jean Snodgrass; sister Lottie Fox and brothers, Bennie and Harold Snodgrass.

Jack grew up in Carbon, Texas helping tend his famiy farm.  He joined the Air Force in 1946 and served for 20 years in numerous locations including Savanah, Georgia, Okinawa, Fairbanks, Alaska, Napa Valley, California, Wiesbaden, German and Midwest City, Oklahoma.  After retiring from the Air Force, Jack worked for the FAA in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Jack loved football and frequently attended Oklahoma Sooners' games in the 1970's and 1980's.  He was an avid hunter enjoying an annual trip to Colorado to camp and deer hunt with his friends Hoyt and Sam.  He had a mechanical gift that he used for all forms of electronic om and car repor at home and for neighbors anda friends.  He retired in south Florida enjoying the weather and new friends he made.  Later in life he enjoyed ballroom dancing to the astonishment of his two daughters.  No one was a strnager, he was quick to laugh and share a colorful expression.
