Ollie Gilbert Moran - Class Of 1905

Cisco -- Ollie Gilbert Moran, 88, of Cisco passed away April 15, 2010.  Services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Zach Tunnell and under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Homes.  Burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery.

Ollie was born October 6, 1921, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to Gilbert and Lucy (Yarborough) Moran.  He attended the Carbon Public School.  He later attended Cisco Junior College and majored in auto mechanics.  During World War II Ollie served his country in the Medical Corps.  On July 18, 1947, Ollie and Christine Poe were married in Scrantion, Texas.  Since that time, they have celebrated 62 anniversaries.  Ollie was a long-time Baptist and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Christine; son, Randy Moran and wife , Shirley, of Cisco; daughter, Arlene Holland and husband, Jay, of Stephenville; six grandsons, Benji Honea, Josh Honea, Nick Moran, Chris Moran, Jason Holland and Clint Holland; four great grandchildren, Shelby Honea, Harper Honea, Hagan Black and Oliver Thomas Moran.  He will be missed by nieces, nephews and a host of friends.  Ollie was preceded in death by one daughter, Charlotte Honea.

The grandsons served as pallbearers, and Ollie's Son, Randy, and they wore Papa's ties.
