Letha's good life almost didn't happen, because she suffered a near-death experience with pneumonia when she was about 16 years old.  But she did grow up to become a wonderful mother.  She was very patient with her rambunctious kids.  She was an excellent seamstress and made many of the clothes for her girls when they were young and shirts for her older son when he was young.

When I was grown and returned one time to visit, she surprised me by playing the piano.  I never had any idea she knew how to play.  She had been instrumental in obtaining piano lessons for me for seven years in school, and I never had an inkling she could play.  I never heard her play again, but all she said she could play were hymns.  She was a homemaker, but she also worked a few years in the brassiere factory in Eastland and several years in the Dairy Treat with her husband and children.  After that she worked many more years at Robertson's TV Sales and Service.

She really enjoyed seeing and visiting with her school classmates at the Carbon Reunions.  She had very fond memories of her school days.
