Lou Ann Collins was a teacher at Carbon ISD in the school year 1976-1977.  She was born in Dublin, Texas on May 24, 1938, to Louie and Margaret Corbell.  She had one brother Richard (Dickie) Corbell.

Her parents moved to Eastland where Lou Ann graduated from Eastland High School in 1956.  After she graduated from the University of Texas in Austin she married Dr. Danny Donegan from DeLeon.  On December 8, 1964, they had their only child, Michael.  On October 26, 1965, Dr. Donegan was found dead at their home in DeLeon.

Lou Ann married Mike Collins of Eastland, Texas on June 17, 1966.  Mike adopted Michael in 1967.  On March 28, 1968, Lou Ann and Mike added their new baby girl, Kristin, to their other three children - Randy, Kelly and Michael.

On October 26, 1970, Mike discovered his daughter, Kelly, dead in her room at Eastland Memorial Hospital.

On June 18, 1977, 9 year old Kristin found her Mother (Lou Ann) dead from carbon-monoxide in the garage at their home in Eastland.
