Clifford "Red" Nelson - Class Of 1905

Clifford "Red" Nelson was raised in the Jewel Community Southeast of Carbon until the death of his dad.  He later married Mildred Lurline Jordan, daughter of Jim and Clye Jordan of Kokomo.  He enlisted and served in the United States Navy C.B's during World War II.  He owned and operated a propane business, farmed peanuts, and ranched in the Carbon community for many years.  He died from lung cancer at his hom in Carbon, Texas in June 2001.  He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers, Edward of Andrews, Texas, and Ray of Lamesa, Texas, and his wife Mildred Lurline.  He is susvived by his son, Jimmy Nelson and wife, Maggie of Carbon, Texas, a daughter, Cassie Brasher and her husband David, also of Carbon, Texas.  Three grandchildren, Tena Nelson of Boise, ID, Travis Nelson and his wife, Gladys of Haltom City Texas, Teresa Turpin and her husband, Chris of Mansfield, Texas.  Ten great grandchildren, Caleb, Haley, Jordan, Alexis, Tiffany, Ethan, Quinton, Samantha, Cale and Luke.
