My Aunt Euna taught first grade and then third grade when I was in school. She was my teacher in both grades, and I loved her. I remember two things about those grades: one was that we colored mimeographed pages, and I loved doing that. She also taught all of us to fold a sheet of our writing paper (with lines) into a cup, which she then proceeded to fill with raisins for a snack. I have since wondered if she paid for those raisins herself or if they were furnished by the school. I loved folding the cups and eating the raisins. We did that often enough that I can still fold a cup like that. I think she probably started me on my lifelong love of crafting.
