Floyd Rice Jr. - Class Of 1948

Floyd Junior Rice, 89, passed away on January 9, 2021.

Floyd Rice was born February 24, 1931, in Carbon, Texas to Floyd John Rice and Lenis Johnson Rice. He married Elizabeth Louise Mize on  August 5, 1951, in Cisco,
Texas.

PFC Floyd Rice was stationed in Korea during the Korean War from 1951-1953. Upon his return to Texas, he worked for Victor Cornelius for 22 years. With the help of the GI Bill, he attended night classes at CJC and then Hardin Simmons. He graduated with a B.S. in Business in 1962. In 1973 he bought and began his own business, R&R Fuel Company, in Ranger. He worked in this capacity until he was 73 and retired. He was a faithful parishioner of the Ranger United Pentecostal Church for almost 60 years.

Survivors are his wife Bitsy Rice; daughters, Linda Lou Honeycutt (Rowland), Shirley Jean Allen; grandchildren, Lori Lynn Honeycutt Phillips (Jerome), Nathan Honeycutt (Shayla), Joshua Allen, Krista Hamilton (Samuel); great- grandchildren, Seth Austin Honeycutt, Zane Floyd Honeycutt, Jesse Dave Honeycutt; 4 grandchildren; 3 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd John Rice; mother, Lenis Rice; sister, Ruby Lee Norris nee' Rice; son-in-law, Afton Allen. Memorial service will be held on January 30, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Ranger United Pentecostal Church. Memorials may be made to Ranger United Pentecostal Church.
