W. E. Reynolds - Class Of 1905

W. E. Dub Reynolds, age 86 of Carbon passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at an Abilene hospital.  Services were held at the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Montgomery and Bill Oldham officiating.  Burial was in the Murray Cemetery, near Carbon.  Mr. Reynolds was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Carbon, Texas to Walter Carl Reynolds and Ollie Mae Stokes Reynolds.  He married Ina Johnson on June 22, 1941, in Eastland.  He was a veteran of WWI serving in the U S. Army.  Mr. Reynolds was a farmer, an avid fisherman, and a member of the Flatwood Church of Christ where he served as an elder for more than 45 years.  He was self-taught and very talented at many skills, including welding, auto mechanics, electrical work, carpentry and wood working.  Survivors include wife of 67 years, Ina Reynolds of Carbon; two sons, Lindian Reynolds and wife, Myra, of Fort Worth, Keith of Eastland and two daughters, Pat Caraway and husband, Bo, of Eastland and Karen Eastman and fiancee, Gene Creamer of Fort Worth, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; neices and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
