Daryl Phelps, 71, of Carbon passed away March 3, 2010.

Services were held a the Majestic Theatre Sunday, March 7, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. with Randy Beggs officiating.  Burial was in the Eastland Cemetery.

Daryl was born Feb. 14, 1939, in Gorman, TX to Jasper and Lorena Phelps.  Daryl was a graduate of Eastland High School and a long time resident of Carbon, Texas.

He is survived by son, Rodney Phelps, of Colleyville, TX; daughter, Darla Whitenton and Husband Thomas Whitenton of N. Richland Hills, TX; step son, Brad Webb or Eastland; sister Thelda Miller and husband Claud Miller of Alamorgordo, New Mexico; brother Dr. Jay A. Phelps and Wife Katrina of Soniota, Arizona; grandsons Daryl Graham and wife Miranda Graham of Ranger and Zach Bowles of Eastland; granddaughter Bailye and Lexie Whitenton of N. Richland Hills; great-granddaughter Jessa Graham of Ranger and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Daryl is preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Bowles; parents, Jasper and Lorena Phelps; and brother, Ron Phelps.
