Ruby Lee Norris, age 82, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2011.  Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Summers-Bakker Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland.  Burial followed at Murray Cemetery with Steve Clark officiating.

Ruby Lee (Rice) Norris was born on March 18, 1929 in Eastland County, TX to Floyd and Lenis  (Johnson) Rice.  She graduated from Carbon High School and Cisco Jr. College.  She married Walton Truett Norris on June 19, 1947 in Eastland.  Along with being a homemaker, and working along side her husband on the family farm, Ruby worked at the Eastland County Tax Office and S&H Green Stamp store and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Gorman.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, oil painting, cooking, shopping and participating in community activities.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, John Floyd and Rooney Lenis Rice; her husband, Truett Norris; and one son, Dave Allen Norris.

She is survived by her two sons, Danny W. and his wife Linda Kay Norris of Carbon, and Dicky L. and his wife Melody Norris of Eastland; her daughter Letha Diane Stubblefield and her husband, Larry M. of Garland; and her brother, Floyd Junior Rice and his wife Elizabeth (Bitsy) of Ranger.  Granny Ruby will be missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the many friends and family who have known and loved her through the years.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Ruth Norris Benefit Fund at the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Eastland.
