Joe Paul May

Died on July 21, 2007, in an Abilene hospital.  Buried at Mt. Marion Cemetery.  Born in Eastland to B. A. "Bud" and Ellen Lee Long May.  Graduated from Carbon High School and attended 2 years at Cisco Jr. College.  Joe became a barber and worked in shops all over.  He married Linda Bullard on November 24, 1974, in Gordon, Texas. He worked as a barber for 47 years, as well at the Strawn Bank as a loan officer.  He also raised hay and cattle.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF and AM in Strawn  and Gordon, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Hoshilla Temple and Scottish Rite Temple as a Shriner.  He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, playing blackjack and having coffee at the Bar-B Truck Stop with his many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Survived by wife, Linda of Mingus; daughter, Amy Jo May of Gordon; son Ricky Andreatta of Mingus, a brother Jerry May and wife, Kay, of Stephenville; uncile Paul Teet May and wife Helen of Eastland.
