Virginia Duggan (Heggedahl) - Class Of 1957 VIEW PROFILE

Virginia "Sam" Heggedahl, 74 of Floodwood. Minnesota died quietly in her home on Sunday, May 11, 2014 with her loving family by her side.   She was born on May 15, 1939 in Gorman, Texas, the ninth of ten children born to Nick and Lorean Duggan.  She married Allan Heggedahl in October of 1956 in Llano, Texas.  They were married for 57 years, most of which they spent together farming.  In addition to being a mother of eight children, Sam drove a school bus, was a nurses' aide and worked the farm.

Sam loved God and was a life-time member of the Church of Christ.   She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and doing other crafts.  She enjoyed being outside puttering in her yard and garden.  Her greatest joy came from spending time with her loving family.  She has made an afghan for each of her grandchildren as a graduation gift.

Sam was preceded in death by one son, Roger; her parents; and two brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her loving husband, Allan; seven children, Robert (Janice) of Abilene, Texas, Connie Dodson of Goehner, NE, Dan (Sharon) of Floodwood, Pamela (Tom) Rasmussen of Kasson, Minnesota, Charles of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Larry (Rhonda) of Floodwood and Tim of South Korea; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; special friends, Randy and Melody Finley; two sisters, Johnnie (Jamie) McGilray and Mary (Wayne) Vincent both of Texas; one brother, Nickie (Margaret) Duggan also of  Texas; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
