Eddie Frasier - Class Of 1963

Eddie Frasier

Eddie Joe Frasier, born in Gorman, Texas on January 18, 1945 went to his Heavenly home on January 10, 2014 following a brave battle with a lengthy illness.  He will be missed by many dear friends and family members who describe him as friendly, somewhat stubborn, adventurous, tender hearted, kind, hard working and generous.  He never really knew a stranger as he made friends with acquaintances very quickly.  His compassion for the needy and broken hearted led to countless acts of kindness in the communities in which he lived.  Wisdom can certainly be found in his mantra, "Never start what you can't finish."  Eddie's younger years were spent on a family owned farm with his parents, Cass and Carrie Frasier,  His siblings include a brother, Benny Frasier (deceased) and Nina Koonce of Stephenville.  He enjoyed a hard working yet carefree, country life running, fishing and playing ball with wonderful friends.  His passion for fishing continued throughout his life and he was known far and wide to be an avic fisherman.

Eddie was a 1962 graduate of Carbon High School.  He was very sociable and active in sports and clubs such as FFA, annual staff, school plays, football, basketball, volleyball, track and baseball.  He received outstanding awards in football and was named Most Athletic his senior year.  His love for football continued thought his life.

After attending Ranger Juniot College, Eddie married Linda and had one child, Lewsha Orozco of Eastland.  Eddie later moved to Fort Stockton, Texas for work where he  met Diane Rich.  Diane lived next door and one day was watering her front lawn and left.  When she came back his yard was flooded, so he approached her.  He immediagtely fell in love with her and married Diane on January 23, 1068.  She had two boys and they became his beloved sons, Cody Frasier ( deceased) and Jerrod Frasier of Ventura, California.  They had three more children together, Tina Frasier Chalk of Midland, Tonya Frasier Coz of Iraan and Tamera Frasier Ramsey of Christoval.  It was well known that Eddie supported his family well and loved them all very much.  They enjoyed many memorable family vacations together.

Eddie moved his young family to Iraan, Texas and raised the children there.  He was a member of First Baptist Church, served on the City Council and the Iraan Volunteer Fire Department.  He enjoyed volunteering as a Little League Baseball coach, Eagle Scout leader and Boxing coach.  He was also appointed City Manager then worked and retired from Marathon Oil Compny.  While in Iraan, he sincerely cherished the friendships he made there.

Later in life, Eddie made his last home on earth with his wife, Diane, in Christoval, Texas and worked as a Licensed Gate Guard.  He eagerly looked forward to time with extended family.  He was known as "papa" by his grandchildren Dustin, Derek, Lindsey, Ryan, April, Taylor, Jaymon, Jayton, Shaela, Kyler, Joshua Kaylan.  His great grandchildren are Keaton, Thomas, Jake and Layla.  As a great grandfather, he acquireD the name of "Po Po".

Eddie's faith in God was a very important part of his life.  He lived to tell others of how Christ saved and changed him.  He loved Christian and gospel music.  One of his favorite pass times was to search the scriptures.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior as a child, but rededicated  his life to his lord in 1975.  He later  became a deacon at Water alley Baptist Church.  He also attended a Walk to Emmaus and become a member of Lakewood Baptist Church in San Angelo.
