Cleo Norris (Duncan) - Class Of 1941

Carrie Cleo Duncan, 89, passed away Monday, December 5, 2011 at her home at the Woodlands in Eastland, Texas.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 7 at the First United Methodist Church with Chaplain Don Duncan and Rev. Bob Rainey offficiating.  Burial was in the Flatwood Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. 

Cleo was born March 24, 1922 in the family home in Flatwood to Charlie and Myrtle Norris.  She married R. O. (Obie) Dunccan on June  1, 1944.  She was a longtime resident of Eastland County and devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, gardening flowers,  if it was outside she loved it.  She could grow anything and people always commented on her flowers in Eastland, they were beautiful.  She was our Dad's right-hand woman, he brought home the bacon and she did everything else.  They were a great team.  The best parents ever.

Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, Obie Duncan; her brothers, Elmer, George and Paul; sisters, Lorena, Lettie, Louise, Faye and Wynette; granddaughter, RaShel Barr, Caleta Duncan's daughter.

Survivors include her children, Anita and Marvin Cates of Eastland, Larry and Maria Duncan of Austin, Beth Williams of Eastland, Don and Caleta Duncan of Yukon, Oklahoma, Karen Moore of Eastland, Fran and Thomas Winingar of Brock; many grandkids, Shelly and Keith Bradshaw, Tracy Roberts, Curtis Cates, Anita's kids: Judd and Megan Duncan and Lindy and Mike Beasley, Larry's kids; Chris and Becky Martin, Jason and Ashley Williams, Beth's kids; Carrie and Matt Little, Josh and Bethany Duncan, James and Laurie Duncan, Justin Barr, Krista and Chris Vega, Don's kids; Kristi & Ryan Gevera, Jessica Malloy, Kelton & Julie Moore, Karen's kids; Cole Winingar and Austin Winingar, Fran's kids; and 28 great-grandkids; lots of nieces, nephews and cousins and she knew and loved each and everyone of us; and a sister, Juanita Zahn of Richardson.
