Wanda Mae Keith died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at a Clyde nursing center.  Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Clyde with Brother Billy Sellers and REv. Mike Terrill officiating.  Burial followed in the Clyde Cemetery under the direction of Baily Funeral Home. 

Wanda May Keith Black, 76, was born January 8, 1932, in Desdemona, Texas to Willis Lee and Eunice Hobson Keith.  After a 21-year battle with cancer, she went to be with the Lord and her adoring husband Luther Black.  Wanda grew up in Eastland County and attended Carbon schools, graduating in 1949.  She married Luther Black on October 14, 1950.  Luther passed away on March 8, 1990. 

Wanda loved to care of her kids, grandkids and great granddaughter.  She also loved to make quilts for family reunions and her kids.  She had a very beautiful yard and flowers and was known for her beautiful roses.  Wanda loved her two puppies, Toi and Shadow.  Wanda worked for Lawrence Brothers (formerly Super Duper and Furrs) in Clyde for 21 years, making many friends.  She attended Cherry Heights Baptist Church in Clyde.

Wanda was preceded in death by an older borther, Harold, in 1933 and sisters, Patsy Honea in 1991 and Glidden Vines in 2007.  She is survived by one daughter, Nance Woods and husband, Pete, of Ulysses, KS; two sons, Stan Black and wife Rene of Clyde and Brett Black and wife Mollie, also of clyde; three grandsons, Brandon Black of Clyde, John Black and wife Lauren of Bryan, Texas and Keith Black of Clyde; one granddaughter Kara Black of Clyde and one great-granddaughter, Courtney Black of Clyde; four borthers, Forrest Keith of Quanah, Texas, Doyle Keith of Baird, Texas, Melvin Keith and Wife Coise of Odessa, Texas and Bill Keith and wife Betty of Olden, Texas; two sisters, Helen May and husband Teet of Eastland, Texas and Judy Miller and husband Bill of Nugent, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
